By Kim Hye-Kyung, Sisa Times
The International Digital Asset Committee (IDAC) announced that it will conduct a program titled “New Opportunities Through Digital Assets: Content Creation Education Utilizing AI and NFT for Youth” in elementary, middle, and high schools across Daejeon in September and October.
Supported by the 2024 Daejeon Non-Profit Public Interest Support Project
The program, selected as part of the 2024 Daejeon Metropolitan City Non-Profit Public Interest Support Project, is supported by the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education, the office of Daejeon Metropolitan City Councilor Lee Jung-ho, Blocore XYZ, and the Daejeon Eastern Multicultural Education Support Center.
Program Details
The program involves IDAC-dispatched instructors conducting two sessions at participating schools. Students will explore unique aspects of assets, design characters based on their findings, and create image content using generative AI. These creations will then be minted as NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens).
Key educational components include:
▲Digital Asset Education: Understanding digital assets, NFTs, and assetization capabilities.
▲Generative AI Information: Insights into AI and how to use generative AI tools.
▲Character Design Workshop: Students design characters reflecting their individuality.
▲AI-Based Content Creation: Using AI to produce desired images.
▲NFT Production and Utilization: Minting created images as NFTs.
▲Cultural Awareness Debate: Discussing and comparing uniqueness and commonalities in the designed characters.
Students who complete the program will have the opportunity to earn an IDAC-issued "NFT Specialist" private certification.
Statements from Leaders
Daejeon City Councilor Lee Jung-ho expressed pride in Daejeon leading the way in digital asset education, particularly within the public education system. "Integrating new trends into public education has profound significance," he said, pledging to continue supporting the expansion of digital asset-related services in Daejeon.
IDAC Chairman Won Seok noted, "The recognition of IDAC's innovative and effective education programs has enabled us to continue offering digital asset education in public schools for 2024, following the success in 2023." He emphasized the importance of focusing on "assetization capabilities" as a core keyword to integrate diverse educational themes effectively.
Chairman Won added, "It's crucial for students to develop an understanding of digital assets and experience their real-world applications during their formative years. This foundation will help expand the societal reach of digital assets."
Future Plans for Global Expansion
Building on the success of these educational programs, IDAC plans to launch global outreach initiatives. By establishing the "IDAC Youth Ambassador" program—a youth club connecting various global community groups—it aims to benchmark ESG activities based on digital assets and expand their influence internationally.
