International Digital Asset Committee Conducts Digital Asset (AI, NFT) Education for Multicultural Students

The International Digital Asset Committee (Chairman Eunseok Won, Mokwon University Professor) conducted a digital asset education program for multicultural youth. As part of the '2024 Daejeon Metropolitan City Nonprofit Civil Organization Public Activity Support Project', students from the Daejeon Daehwa Elementary Korean Language Class participated in the program.

The education covered the following topics:

  • 'Digital Asset Education', which provided information on digital assets, NFTs, and assetization capabilities
  • 'Intellectual Property (IP) Education' on how to protect creative ideas through patents, trademarks, and more
  • 'Generative AI Information Education', including practical exercises on using generative AI
  • 'Character Planning Process Practice', where students planned unique characters reflecting their individuality
  • 'AI-based Content Creation Education', where students created images using AI
  • 'NFT Creation and Utilization Practice', where students turned their images into NFTs
  • 'Multicultural Awareness Discussion', where students compared and discussed the uniqueness and commonalities of their characters.

Six multicultural students from Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines planned and created character images using generative AI, which were then turned into NFTs. Afterward, each student introduced their character image and explained its features on the digital whiteboard.

At the end of the presentations, each student was given a mock IP registration certificate for their character design. They also exchanged ideas about the similarities and differences in their characters, reflecting on cultural diversity.

Samir (3rd grade), a student from Uzbekistan, said, "The class was so fun. I liked learning how to turn my drawing into an asset that I can sell. I hope to sell a lot and make money."
Tanbin (15 years old) from Vietnam commented, "It was the most fun class since I came to Korea. Even though my Korean is not perfect, I think what I learned today will help me."

IDAC Chairman Eunseok Won explained, "Focusing on the core keyword of digital assets, 'assetization capabilities,' allows us to plan educational activities that integrate various themes. When students convert their content into assets and use it, their perspective on their own talents and strengths changes. The purpose of IDAC's digital asset education is to help everyone develop the ability to open up new possibilities by utilizing digital assets such as AI and NFTs."

IDAC's digital asset education, recognized for its effectiveness, has been selected as part of the '2024 Daejeon Nonprofit Civil Organization Public Activity Support Project' again this year, following its success in 2023. Supported by the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education and BlockoXYZ, around 300 students from seven schools (Gayang Elementary, Gaoh Elementary, Daehwa Elementary, Doan Elementary, Sammeori Elementary, Noeun High School, and Daejeon Foreign Language High School) have participated so far.
