[The Fair] Reporter Son Ho-joon – The International Digital Asset Committee (IDAC), led by Chairman Eun-Seok Won, a professor at Mokwon University, has announced it will host a charity event titled "Sight: The World Seen Through the Eyes of Journalists with Developmental Disabilities", leveraging digital assets to support journalists with developmental disabilities.
The initiative involves creating image content using photographs taken by journalists with developmental disabilities from Human Aid Post. These images are then minted as NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) and sold as part of a new social contribution model integrating digital assets. Sponsors for the event include Daejeon City Council member Jung Ho-Jo, the Daejeon Taeho Lions Club (chaired by Kim Hoi-Geun), and the Anti-Corruption Citizens Movement Coalition (led by Executive Representative Won Deok-Ho).
To facilitate the event, Bloqck XYZ (CEO: Kim Kyung-Hoon) has supported the initiative by providing its NFT platform, CCCV. Members of the Veritas Club at Daejeon Foreign Language High School, part of IDAC's Youth Committee, participated in planning and creating the NFTs. Additionally, IDAC's Mokwon University Club members are managing event preparations and operations, while adult organizations are contributing by purchasing NFTs for charity, reflecting the event's multigenerational and inclusive design.
Notably, the Taeho Lions Club plans to issue NFT badges to members participating in the event as a form of volunteer certification. These badges will serve as explicit indicators of participation and dedication within the organization, aiming to ensure the purchased NFTs have ongoing relevance and value beyond the one-time activity.
Proceeds from the NFT sales will support Human Aid Post, a platform providing news written in simple Korean and reviewed by journalists with developmental disabilities, aiming to bridge the information gap.

Kim Hoi-Geun, Chairman of the Taeho Lions Club, stated, “Digital assets may still feel unfamiliar and challenging, but we need innovative approaches to keep up with rapid societal changes. Though we may face difficulties and trial-and-error, we’ll work to ensure this initiative becomes a benchmark example for operating social organizations.”
IDAC Chairman Eun-Seok Won added, “Incorporating digital assets into social contribution activities allows the impact to extend beyond traditional boundaries, creating ripple effects in various areas. Through this event, which involves participants across generations and societal sectors, we aim to highlight the potential for digital assets to drive meaningful expansion and innovation.”
The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 7, at 11 a.m. at the College of Humanities at Mokwon University. Online NFT sales will continue until October 31 following the offline sales event.
