On April 26th, Chairman Won Eun-seok of the International Digital Assets Community (IDAC), also a professor at Mokwon University, was honored with a commendation from the National Assembly's Committee Chair at the '2023 Korea Brand Awards - ESG Management Awards Ceremony,' hosted by the Korea Brand Association Chairman, Jo Se-hyun. Supported by Korea Environmental Corporation, Korea Airports Corporation, and Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, the event was held at the Korea Exchange Conference Hall to recognize outstanding brands and entities excelling in ESG management across various sectors since its inception in 2017.
IDAC, a nonprofit organization, aims to foster a healthy digital assets ecosystem through activities in social contribution, culture and arts, education, and environmental fields. Key initiatives include establishing a global digital assets network involving corporations, organizations, institutions, and experts alongside general citizens, enhancing the assetization capabilities of digital assets to increase social mobility for marginalized groups such as career-disrupted women and vulnerable youth, and the 'Everyone's NFT' project, which broadens horizons across various sectors using digital assets.
At this awards ceremony, IDAC was recognized for its contributions to the proliferation of digital assets and the establishment of a healthy digital assets ecosystem, earning the commendation from the National Assembly's Committee Chair.
Chairman Won Eun-seok expressed his thoughts on receiving the commendation, stating, "For digital assets to establish themselves socially and construct an ecosystem with value, it is essential to spread them healthily centered around ordinary citizens. I view this commendation as support for IDAC's efforts to empower citizens to change their daily lives through enhancing assetization capabilities. We will plan and operate activities more diligently to lead improvements in societal perceptions of digital assets."
In 2023, IDAC plans to leverage domestic and global networks to develop a 'Digital Assets ESG Social Contribution Network Platform,' aiming to perform ESG activities utilizing digital assets and share their achievements. They also intend to establish a donation platform using digital assets and collaborate with various social organizations active in social contribution and environmental fields.
